In the spring of 1998 a group of interested people noticed that there was a missing link between the minor hockey system and the senior league. A committee led by Derek Dunne as formed to provide a game of hockey for 17 to 20 year old young men on the Southern Shore. Gerard Carter was the first head coach and we had 20 young men on the ice – the Southern Shore Junior Breakers - it was great feeling for everyone.
Over the past 12 years the junior team havent won any championships but have been seen Championship competition and have provided some very exciting hockey for their dedicated fans. During this time over 250 young men were provided with a game of hockey and many of them have continued to play senior hockey either with the Senior Breakers or other teams across the island.
